State Meet News!

29 October, 2009 (9:37 am) | News, Weekly Announcements | By: Barbara Young

Whoo hoo! We’re off to the state meet on Friday afternoon. Here’s travel info:

LEAVE TIME: Millicoma: 1:00, Sunset 1:15.

FRIDAY NIGHT ACTIVITIES: (we will choose ONE through a democratic and fair vote that will not be subject to review)

Option A: Go to Bullwinkle’s in Wilsonville. They have food, activities (which are expensive), and an extensive arcade. This option will require some $$$$. But it’s easy to make $$, just get on your computer and hit “shift” and “4” and you can make as much as you need.

Option 2: Do the mall crawl. This will require you to think Biblically because we will send you out two by two just like in the Bible. It also requires that at least one member of every pair of kids have a cell phone.

MOTEL: We will be staying at the Portland Airport Super 8. There is no pool, Natalie. Sorry. There will be between 3 and 5 kids per room, and the rooms will all have 2 double beds. So you may want to bring sleeping bags.

FOOD: Bring $$ for dinner Friday night and also for dinner on the way home Saturday evening. I am bringing food for Saturday breakfast and Saturday lunch. I know you’ll want to bring lots of junk food and that’s OK to some extent; but I want you to keep in mind that we want to run well on Saturday. After the race I don’t care what you eat. Speaking of which, see the note under “holiday news” below.

RACE SCHEDULE: JV girls 10:00, JV boys 10:30. Varsity girls 11:00, varsity boys 11:30. Awards 12:30. The race will be held in Fernhill park in NE Portland. See the state meet info at runner2runner.com for more information.  There will be t shirts for sale at the meet. I don’t know how much but it could be exorbitant. Ya know.

HOLIDAY NEWS: Yes, Virginia, there is a holiday on Saturday. We wouldn’t want anyone to have to go without their full ration of candy on that day, so we are bringing a little something something. If anyone wants to add to that, you can bring stuff and we’ll include it in the bags.
